Before referring to the table below for speed conversions, please note that if you would like to go back to FT per minute or meters per second from another conversion, your results will not always be exact, but they will be close enough to tell how fast the elevator is going.

### Given FT per minute

To find out the elevator's speed in a different unit (when you're given FT per minute)... You do this: To go back & get a good estimate:
Meters per minute Divide by 3.28, then round to the nearest 5 Multiply by 3.28, then round to the nearest 50
Miles per hour Divide by 88, then round to the nearest half of a mile Multiply by 88, then round to the nearest 50
Kilometers per hour Multiply by 0.0182, then round to the nearest half of a kilometer Divide by 0.0182, then round to the nearest 50
Meters per second Divide by 60, divide by 3.28, then round to the nearest quarter of a meter Multiply by 60, multiply by 3.28, then round to the nearest 50
Feet per second Divide by 60, then round to the nearest ten thousandth Multiply by 60, then round to the nearest 50
Feet per hour Multiply by 60 Divide by 60
