Sigma ACRA, formerly Iris NV is a traction elevator model of Sigma Elevator Company produced since 2012-2013.
Description[]
ACRA is a traction elevator model designed for low to mid rise buildings. It uses gearless machine with permanent magnet. The mode is a successor of Sigma's Distributed Inverter Di1 and Di2 as well as Iris (made in Dalian, China) models. It was first launched in 2012-2013 as Iris NV before it was renamed to ACRA in 2019 and changed to based on either Otis OH6000 (from Otis Electric factory in Hangzhou, China) or Otis Arise (from Otis TEDA factory in Tianjin, China) model. In Russia, this model is known as Iris NR.
Iris NV was also sold in South Korea between 2013 and 2019 as NV1 or Iris-NV1[1], but branded as Otis[2][3] since the Sigma trademark is only used for overseas markets. This is because Otis Elevator Korea had closed its local factory (the Changwon factory which had existed since the GoldStar era) in 2013 and moved its production in China, so most elevators that were installed in South Korea came from China. The model has been the subject of numerous poor reviews, breakdowns and malfunctions in the country[4] due to the fact that it was produced in China and uses Shanghai STEP controllers instead of Sigma's own controllers. It was considered as the worst elevator model in Otis Korea's history due to its poor receptions. The model was discontinued in 2019 when local production resumes after Otis Korea built a new research & development center and manufacturing facility in Songdo International Business District in Incheon, South Korea[5].
