New XI'AO Group

New XI'AO Elevator Group (Chinese name: 新西奥集团) is an elevator and escalator manufacturing group located in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province in China. It's products cover complete elevators and escalators, elevator controllers, elevator door systems and operators, and traction machines.

History[]

Xizi exported its first elevators outside China (to Vietnam) in 1993. In 1997, Otis Elevator Company along with Xizi formed Xizi Otis, a joint venture company and Otis's fifth joint venture in China. The Xizi Otis brand lasted until October 2016 when it was renamed to Otis Electric. However, Xizi still owns 20% shares of Otis Electric.

Between 2004 and 2011, Xizi established a number of subsidiary companies. These includes Hangzhou XO-LIFT (Chinese: 西奥电梯[1]) in 2004, Hangzhou SWORD Elevator Co., Ltd. in 2009 and Surapid Elevator Co., Ltd. in 2011. The SWORD brand is mainly targeted for international markets. In 2018, XO-LIFT was renamed to XIOLIFT (Hangzhou XIOLift Co., Ltd.). The XIOLIFT brand is mainly targeted for the local (Chinese) market. Also in 2008, Xizi established Xizi Unite Elevator Co., Ltd.

In 2015, New XI'AO Elevator Group was established, and all the subsidiary companies including Xizi Elevator Technology Co., Ltd. became its subsidiaries. The group focuses on all the parts as well as complete elevators and escalators and moving walkways, while its parent company Xizi UHC also focuses on other heavy machinery.

  • Xizi Elevator Technology Co., Ltd.: A complete elevator, escalator, and moving walkway manufacturer. Its products mainly target high-end markets and serves both domestic and overseas markets, with factories in Zhejiang, Tianjin and Chengdu. The name 'iLIFT' is used in China.
  • Hangzhou SWORD Elevator Co., Ltd.: A complete elevator manufacturer. It is mainly targeted for international markets and home elevator markets in China.
  • Surapid Elevator Co., Ltd.: A complete elevator manufacturer.
  • Zhejiang Xizi Forvorda Electrical Machinery Co., Ltd.: Chinese name: 浙江西子富沃德电机有限公司. One of the largest gearless elevator traction machine manufacturers in China. Established in 2004. Its products are used by many large elevator companies (e.g. Otis and Kone) and all subsidiaries of New XI'AO Elevator Group.
  • Hangzhou Optimax Tech Co.,Ltd.: Chinese name: 杭州优迈科技有限公司. An elevator controller manufacturer. Its products are used by almost all of the elevator products made by New XI'AO Elevator Group as well as small local brands in China.
  • Hangzhou XIOLIFT Co., Ltd.: A complete elevator, escalator, and moving walkway manufacturer. Its products mainly target the domestic Chinese market.

  • Apart from making complete elevators and escalators, New XI'AO Elevator Group is also a supplier of elevator parts and components for major elevator companies (like Schindler and Kone) as well as large and small domestic companies in China (like SJEC, Canny, etc.). These components are made by different subsidiaries, for examples, traction machines are made by Xizi Forward (or Xizi Forvorda for export market), controllers are made by Xizi Optimax, and door operators are made by Xizi. It is one of the largest elevator parts suppliers in the country.
