NexWay Modernization was an elevator modernization solution for high rise elevators that were originally manufactured by Mitsubishi Electric only.
Description[]
NexWay Modernization is an elevator modernization solution for modernizing or renewing older custom type high speed Mitsubishi elevators (passenger/service type) in high rise buildings that are typically 20 to 25 years old or more. It is based on the NexWay "High Speed" type for new installations. NexWay Modernization is available in most markets (outside Japan) around the world except North America where it does not meet ASME A17.1.
Similar to ELEMOTION, NexWay Modernization adopts a partial modernization solution plan instead of replacing the entire elevator, although building owners may request a full replacement without retaining any of the existing components. Depending on the modernization plans, major components or equipment are replaced while re-using existing parts that are still usable, thus maintaining renewal expenses at a reasonable level. It also only applies for older elevators installed by Mitsubishi; for equipment installed by other manufacturers, a full replacement is only possible.
NexWay Modernization was released in 2011 as a successor of the GPM-IIIMZ solution. It was discontinued in 2021 in favor of ELEMOTION, which now can be used for high-rise elevator modernisations of speeds up to 6 m/s.
