Mitsubishi AXIEZ is an elevator model currently produced by Mitsubishi Electric and only sold in Japan.
Description[]
AXIEZ is Mitsubishi's current model of gearless machine room less elevator which is exclusively designed and sold for the Japanese market. It is not sold elsewhere outside Japan because the Mitsubishi NEXIEZ, a series of passenger elevator models based on the AXIEZ, is sold instead. AXIEZ is a successor of the Mitsubishi ELEPAQ-i (known as Elenessa for markets other than Japan) machine room less elevator, which was also exclusive for the Japanese market.
There are three different types of this model. One is the AXIEZ P type which is a passenger elevator for office buildings, commercial buildings, high end residential buildings, hotels, department stores/shopping centers, elderly homes, hospitals, train stations, airports, schools/universities and industrial buildings. It can also be a panoramic or glass elevator as an option. The second is AXIEZ R type which is a slightly smaller passenger elevator primarily for residential buildings and elderly homes as well. The third is AXIEZ B type which is a bed elevator for hospitals, medical centers and elderly homes. Mitsubishi also makes AXIEZ smart-R which is a variant of AXIEZ designed for residential buildings with up to 10 floors and has a capacity range of 450-850 kilograms.
Its main competitors are Hitachi UrbanAce, Toshiba SPACEL, Fujitec XIOR, and Otis Gen2 Premier.
History[]
AXIEZ was launched in 2005 as a successor of ELEPAQ-i which had been on sale since 2001. In August 2009, Mitsubishi announced the release of AXIEZ smart-R which is designed for smaller residential buildings. By 2013, the capacity range of AXIEZ P type has been extended to 17-16 persons capacities. On 29 September 2020, Mitsubishi announce a new series of AXIEZ known as AXIEZ LINKs. AXIEZ LINKs[]
On 29 September 2020, Mitsubishi Electric announced that it would release a new series of AXIEZ known as AXIEZ LINKs, due to be released on 8 October 2020[1]. The AXIEZ LINKs was designed with the concept of "connecting an elevator with the people, building and city" through a could based platform, similar to the Kone DX Class elevator. The cloud based platform, known as BuilUnity, allows the administrator to monitor and control multiple elevators in a buildig at once using a smartphone or tablet. It also allows elevator management to be done through a web based service; elevator settings can be changed remotely through the web using a smartphone or tablet even if the administrator is not on the site. Furthermore, work reports can be viewed and stored on the web, reducing the trouble of managing reports. These services requires a contract between Mitsubishi and building owner.
Other key features:
- Earthquake countermeasures: Automatically diagnoses and confirms the presence or absence of abnormalities in elevators that have stopped due to control operation during an earthquake and resumes operation.
- Multi power supply: Emergency elevator power supply in case of power failure is supplied by multiple power sources from the solar power generation system and electric vehicle (V2H), not just emergency batteries.
- Health Air air and deodorizing filter to make air in the elevator car clean and fresh.
- Robot cooperation: Allows an elevator to be linked with robots in the building.
- Smartphone service: Allows a passenger to call the elevator remotely using a dedicated smartphone app, similar to Schindler's myPORT, Kone's RemoteCall and Otis's OneCall apps.
- Maisart elevator group control management with Artificial Intelligence (AI).
In addition, AXIEZ LINKs is equipped with multilingual automated voice announcement and indicator displays in four languages; Japanese, English, Chinese and Korean (similar to Fujitec's New XIOR model). Only Japanese and English are used under normal circumstances, and all four languages are used in case of emergency or alert. For special/emergency messages in the floor indicator, all four messages will be shown in turns every 3 seconds.
