On November 16th, 2007, a 1980s Hitachi elevator in Ratu Plaza office Tower in Jakarta, Indonesia plummeted down due to broken hoisting ropes. (BHESCO) was established under joint venture between Siam Elevator Co. Ltd. and Machinery and Equipment Co., Ltd. and Hitachi (Japan) Limited. Both SHE and BHESCO merged in 2010 into Siam-Hitachi Elevator Co., Ltd. Siam-Hitachi Elevator still exists but separated from Hitachi Elevator Thailand which was established in 2017.
