This is the machine room of a vintage Otis bottom drive winding drum traction elevator! I didn't get too close to the controller, or enter far into the machine room, because I don't want to stand near something that is sparking, and safety is priority. I cut the video off suddenly because I heard somebody coming down, this machine room was in a storage room, I wasn't supposed to be in here, and I could have been seen if it was an employee. There is a box saying MCE sitting on the ground in the back of the machine room. I hope it isn't a new controller, and that they are not going to modernize this elevator. This is in San Francisco, CA. This elevator was installed in 1914, making it 100 years old!
